Cecilia Celeste is an independent rock band from Jersey City. They have been receiving increasing attention the last 4 years, and are a well-known regional act. Without the trappings of major label interference, Cecilia Celeste is aggressively building a massive following through old school touring and sales of music directly to fans. This has enabled extensive touring and a prolific output of recorded material. Between their song portfolio and tremendous live show and gigantic fan base, they are easily one of the most important and recognizable bands working in the area today. Their sound is dirty, bluesy, and classic with a tight urban swagger that has earned them a contagious fan base.
Singer/guitarist Kieran Sullivan and drummer Evaldo “China” Soares formed CC. The two formed the band with heartfelt intentions naming the band after each of their grandmothers’ name, both of which played a major part in raising them and teaching them music. They recorded a demo "Screwtape" in Hoboken, NJ at Upstart Studios with Chris Gibson in 2009. In a couple months Nick Afflitto, one of Kieran’s old college band mates and good friends, joined them and completed the band. Cecilia Celeste has independently released three records since, “October Leaves” P.2010, “Underwater” P. 2012, “Candy” P.2014, all available for digital download through all internet distributors, or by hard copy directly through there website.
Cecilla Celeste continues to tour in support of their latest EP “Candy.” This past summer played a monumental show in their hometown of Jersey City in front of tens of thousands at the Freedom & Fireworks Festival on the Hudson River in Liberty State Park with panoramic views of Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the Statue Of Liberty. They hit directly after the NJ Fireworks display, and during the NYC finale.
They will be embarking on a National Tour throughout the end of 2014.
